This concert features plenty of songs from various games across the franchise, which takes place over three hours. Some of the songs present in the concert include a complete musical suite for Kirby: Star Allies’ final boss and even a full on cover of “Welcome to the New World” from Kirby and the Forgotten Land. To many fans’ surprise and delight, Kirby’s longtime voice actor, Makiko Ohmoto, also made an appearance at the event.

Ohmoto is a veteran voice actress who has many years of experience as various video game characters. This includes Lyn from the Fire Emblem franchise, Sayaka Maizono from the Danganronpa series, and of course Kirby, just to name a few. She has voiced Kirby since the original Super Smash Bros. and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and has reprised her role in every subsequent Kirby game.

Fans were unsure up until the moment Ohmoto did Kirby’s classic voice lines, which instantly enamored fans to her and reminded them of why Kirby is a beloved character to this day. Ohmoto even participated in the concert itself, where she and Neichel sing “Welcome to the New World,” the credits theme from Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as a duet.

Fans who watched to the end of the concert heard her wave off to the audience and say goodbye to them, thanking for their participation as well. Not only that, poyo, a phrase typically associated with Kirby, was thrown in by Ohmoto there as well. Alongside this guest appearance, fans were treated to a new trailer of Kirby’s Dream Buffet, a multiplayer party game that is similar to Fall Guys.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
